Happy New Year!
This is the time of the year when I look back and reflect on what has happened and to be honest 2018 has been pretty awesome. I love writing and finding a job that lets me do that has been quite amazing. I’m still on maternity cover as far as I am aware but even if it is only for a year, it has been brilliant.
The whole getting back into being an employee has been a bit of an eye opener. Both good and bad. In the past if I wanted to stay up late to work, I did and then napped in the day – or potentially I could. Although, I think, in reality, I just ended up getting more and more tired.
Other times, I could get all the bits and pieces done and do more exercise during the day time. I definitely had more time for creative writing although never between September to December. These four months regardless of what I else is happening are always busy. However, there is more of a routine now compared to before.
Plus it feels good to get out of the house and meet other people. In the office, unless its an emergency, there is nothing else but to work – no personal stuff or someone phoning and asking for a favour in the middle of the day because I’m at home. And it’s nice being paid regularly.
Whatever, happens with this contract, being at work is nice as long as I can fit it in between the school run.
