I’m still none the wiser as to what I am doing with my life. I’ve written about it in this post on Accountingweb which you can read here: confusion-and-plans
However, since writing this post, I was driving down from my mum’s house at around 7pm. Usually, I can take it or leave it when it comes to driving however, this time I really did enjoy the drive. The girls had both fallen asleep, (one of the main reason for driving home at around 7pm) and the sky was turning from bright yellow sunlight and wishing I had sunglasses on, to a red sky with orange streaks, to a dusky blue with strains of the leftover orange . It was so beautiful especially with my favourite Bollywood songs softly playing in the background (another ploy to get the girls to fall asleep).
I’m not much of a driving to enjoy the scenery type person at all. My mum and my husband both love the views when they drive. I generally couldn’t care less and usually get quite bored with seeing grass and greenery and stuff. I prefer the flashing lights of the billboards which they have now installed on the M6. I’m usually looking out for what they will advertise on it next time. Once they had Xero on it – that was quite exciting especially as I had just started using it and I was really into it at the time!
Anyway, during this drive, taking in the views and listening to old Bollywood songs, I felt little bit more calmer and possibly philosophical. No matter what has happened in life so far, everything has worked itself out and mostly for the better. It’s still not enough to stop worrying but I know eventually, everything will be ok.
My favourite quote from my favourite yoga girl, Rachel Brathen:
You will always be okay! Money and material things come to you when you dare to trust in life’s ability to take you exactly where you need to go. When we live in fear we create tense vibrations that keep the things we long for at a distance. Worrying is praying for what we don’t want to happen. Focus on what you want, not what you fear!
